The Appledore 19 is the ultimate family rowing boat, designed to offer the ease of a
traditional fixed seat pulling boat and the excitement of a sliding seat boat. The
Appledore 19' is our largest and most stable boat, and easily carries two rowers and two
children.
This is a friendly boat that allows more indiscretion when you board or move
around, yet it remains a true Alden -- built for performance rowing. The fine lines and
slender beam allow the Appledore 19' to move through rough or smooth water more easily
than conventionally constructed Whitehalls, skiffs and other traditional pulling boats.
You reach cruising speeds easily and can cover long distances, even in some fairly
unreasonable weather. This is an excellent boat for those who enjoy fixed seat rowing, but
want the option to add the speed that the sliding seat provides.
