This everyday jacket features a hidden inflatable chamber to give you a coat that can be worn for every activity. Three factors were key in design...a child cannot operate the CO2 inflatation of an adult system; unfortunately, the current state of the art auto inflators are not reliable enough for children; and as every parent will soon discover, traditional foam lifejackets are too uncomfortable for an hour-after-hour, day-after-day use by an active child.
This comfortable, high performance jacket allows the parent to provide the buoyancy when the child's activity involves water before the child ever steps onto the boat. The parent orally inflates the air chamber when needed. This different approach works for many, especially for families living aboard.
Another benefit to this jacket is that when fully inflated, this jacket will turn a child to a face-out-of-the-water position, while most lifejackets today wil not.
