Traditional "lapstrake" is, arguably, the most beautiful way
to build a boat. Unlike normal stitch-and-glue construction, each strake,
or plank, overlaps the strake below. Length: 17' 9" Beam: 38" Weight: 65 lbs.
| Traditionally, strakes were nailed together or riveted; with the advent of epoxy, they can be glued. This makes for very stiff, but light, hulls. The overlapping strakes, particularly the shadows cast by them, accentuate the graceful lines of a handsome hull. |

The hull shape of the handsome Annapolis Wherry reminds us of the classic Whitehall pulling boat. The Annapolis Wherry can be rowed using normal fixed oarlocks, or a Piantedosi sliding seat and riggers can be installed. It makes a great open water exercise shell, and on weekends it'll serve as an elegant "picnic boat" for two. Visitors of the Chesapeake Light Craft shop describe the Wherry as "the most sophisticated stitch-and-glue kit available" and "the best looking kit ever."
The price of the kit is $1099 plus shipping (drop in rowing unit
and oars).
This Kit is designed to accommodate the Piantedosi Row Wing.
Wooden Pine Scull oar kits and Chesapeake Carbon oars are in stock for immediate shipment.
Prices are in U.S. Currency; Maryland residents add 5% Sales Tax.
